Metahuman Classes

Edition #6

Architecture

Hello, Metahumans! Welcome to a new edition of 'Metahuman Classes'. In this blog, we talk about the different classes we have on our site. This week we'll talk about... Architecture!

Why do we learn it?

At the University, Architecture might seem like one of the least important subjects. Yet, it isn't. Because it is actually insane how much a superhero or a villain needs to know about this subject. This is because - in the future - you might come into a lot of fights which are happening either on or in a building. Of course, during these fights, you could just run around like a crazy person, but we all know that having a tactic is way better. Besides, there is a possibility that you would want a secret hideout, to make this you will certainly need to understand architecture.

What do we learn?

Architecture has excited for thousands of years now. After all, architecture kind of started when the first buildings got made. In this class, you will be discussing this. Why was the architecture in ancient Rome different than the architecture we have now? After a couple of lessons in the Architecture class, you will be able to answer this. Not only will you be learning differences in architecture, but you will also learn how to understand architecture and how exactly to work with it. Who knows, maybe you will even learn how to design a building yourself.

Interviews

We can't talk about Architecture without getting William Whitlock here, am I right? This is why I have an interview with them for you!

William, Master of Architecture

Architecture is quite a new subject at Metropolis University. This makes that no one really knew much about it yet. However, William is able to tell us a lot - he is a big fan of his own subject. (But honestly, which Master isn't?)

Interview:

Why did you want to become the Master of Architecture and not the Master of another subject?
No thick reason or cool story, to be honest. There are so many topics to cover and I thought that it'll be rather fun to try! I am just a huge architecture nerd, so that also may be the point...

If you would be the Master of another subject, what would it be?
Not entirely sure... I am really fond of a lot of subjects, but it will be either Astronomy, Computer Science or Foreign languages. For different reasons, I find every single subject incredibly interesting! And there is also Botany.

What is your favorite thing about teaching?
Again: not completely sure. I love a lot of things about teaching, from doing the research for the lesson to giving some weird assignments just for the fun of it. But, my favorite thing is probably seeing the students think creatively and read the assignments!

Is there something you think students should know before taking Architecture?
If you expect me to say something motivational or wise, you will be disappointed. I think the students should also know that if they want to find me, looking in the Architecture office is the last thing they should do. The Superhero History office may be a good place to start looking - after all, even if Master Salerio does not care a lot, the office needs some new decorations!

Conclusion

In conclusion, Architecture is worth trying! Don't count on Master Whitlock giving you much motivation, though. But that's fine, as you will get all the motivation you need from the interesting things you might learn and need in the future. After all, who doesn't want to know how to make their own hero (or villain) secret hideout?

Are you curious about what subject we might discuss next time? Then stay on the lookout for any new blogs that will get published in the future.
