Metahuman Classes

Edition #3

Superpower Training

Hello, Metahumans! Welcome to a new edition of 'Metahuman Classes'. In this blog, we talk about the different classes we have on our site. This week we'll talk about... Superpower Training!

Why do we learn it?

I personally think this isn't even something I would really have to explain. Everyone has their own power, whether you're a Cyborg, a Hybrid, a Cosmic, or a Hybrid League Member. When you first come to Metropolis University, you might not know how to control these powers yet. This is why we get taught Superpower Training. To learn how to stay calm and not do things you wish you wouldn't have done. After all, you can only be a good Metahuman if you're able to control your powers.

What do we learn?

Like I already told you, in Superpower Training, you will learn how to control your own power, but also the powers of other people. You will learn how these powers work and what exactly they are. Not only this but you also get taught mindfulness - to stay calm - and what it means to have powers. You will learn about the responsibilities you take on now that you have these powers.

Interviews

We can't talk about Superpower Training without getting either Adriana Lim-Vecchiarelli or Zhanna Kovaleva here, am I right? This is why I have an interview with them for you!

Adriana, Master of Superpower Training

Superpower Training is an important subject, and with a Master like Adriana, you will certainly learn a lot. She is doing an incredible job at teaching students of all ages about their own powers.

Interview:

Why did you want to become the Master of Superpower Training and not the Master of another subject?
I think there's a thrill in finding your special strength. There's a depth to powers and training brings that out. Beyond your power's title, there's a link to who you are and it shapes you in a way. I was intrigued by the thought of sharing my ideas with a group of students and am glad to be able to share my assistance with them. I also just adore the thought of forcing my students to focus on breathing and doing yoga, ahaha.

If you would be the Master of another subject, what would it be?
If I had to be the Master of another subject, I think I would have to go with Botany. I do adore plants and the way you can use them for anything - healing? Check. Decoration? Check!

What is your favorite thing about teaching?
My favorite thing about teaching is seeing what students take away from the class' main idea and how they use that in their homework. Students write some amazing pieces and I love to read them whenever I get the chance.

Is there something you think students should know before taking Superpower Training?
I think all students should know that this isn't as much action as it is me being a bore and also forcing you to focus on your mind-space. And yoga, always yoga.

Zhanna, Master's Aide of Superpower Training

I don't think you will believe me when I say that Zhanna has been the Master's Aide of this subject for almost two years now, but she has been. It's incredible how much Zhanna has already done for this class, and it seems like she is still enjoying it.

Interview:

Why did you choose to become the Master's Aide of Superpower Training instead of another subject?
I chose to become an Aide for Superpower Training because when I first started taking the class I was intrigued by what I was learning and wanted to share the skills and knowledge that the class gave me and hopefully help others fall in love with the class as well.

What is your favorite thing about working with Master Lim-Vecchiarelli?
My favorite thing about her has to be how nice she is. I don't think I've ever had a negative interaction with her. She's great to learn from and has a way of making things make sense in my brain. I think that she is one of the best Masters around, but I think I may be biased!

What is your favorite thing about being a Master's Aide?
My favorite thing about being a Master's Aide would be getting to see the amazing homework that students submit! I love grading a fantastic assignment come across my pile. There are so many talented students who are submitting such great quality assignments that they inspire me to put more effort into my own!

What is your best tip for students making Superpower Training homework?
My biggest tip for writing homework is to make sure you read the requirements thoroughly before submitting! Make sure that you've fulfilled all of the requirements to the best of your ability and don't forget your sources! ;) And I love detail, give me alllllll of the details in an assignment. It may seem weird but I love reading assignments where everything doesn't go to plan and chaos ensues.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Superpower Training is a subject everyone should follow - even if you're not into yoga, something which will be important. You learn to understand your powers and how to put them to good use, something everyone wants, isn't it?

Are you curious about what subject we might discuss next time? Then stay on the lookout for any new blogs that will get published in the future.
