Song Review

Issue #1

Hello folks! This blog will feature me listening in to some of your favorite songs and giving my thoughts, comments, and opinions on them. If you have a song you'd like me to listen to and feature here, just send it to me VIA Mail Post! Now with that, let's dig in shall we?

This week we will be taking a look at one of Deadmau5's most popular songs: Strobe. At first glance, it seems to be slightly out of the ordinary as it is 10 minutes long, which is quite lengthy for a song. When the song first starts, it seems to have elements of soothing New Age music mixed in with the Electronic elements, and is very pleasing to the ears. As the slow melodic synth builds up, the elements of Electronic House music become more clear cut. Another interesting aspect of this song is that Deadmau5 makes use of sounds from nature in certain parts to enhance the song. At around the 4th minute of the song, it's mood changes, and the song becomes more catchy. But by the 7th minute, the song becomes bouncy, incorporating a beat that makes you want to dance nearly immediately, before cooling back down as quick as it started.

In my opinion, the 7 minute buildup was well worth the wait. The song is very calming and soothing to the nerves, and is an EDM classic of sorts as it was released in 2009. What do you think of the song? Let me know below. And remember, if you have any songs you want me to feature on the next blog, send them to me VIA mailpost! Until next time folks!
