If this name doesn’t ring a bell for you, that’s completely normal because that was me too before joining MH. However, now that you’re here, let me tell you: Grant Gustin is an American actor born on January 14, 1990. A little too early for Valentine, that’s for sure. Gustin is very well known within the DC fans communities because of his role as Barry Allen a.k.a. The Flash, our beloved fastest man alive. He has been The Flash for a LOOONG time, starting 2013 until 2023.

Before becoming The Flash, Gustin had a few roles in movies and other TV shows, not to anyone’s surprise. His best known role was Sebastian Smythe on Glee. The movies that he was in are Affluenza, Krystal, Tom and Grant, Rescued by Ruby, and Puppy Love. A lot, we should add! This man is really talented.
What Series was Grant Gustin as The Flash in?
Of course, being The Flash for 10 years doesn’t mean he’s in one movie or series only. No. Grant Gustin played in a lot of DC TV shows! The first one that he played in was Arrow. He played as The Flash there for 14 episodes. Next, he played in The Flash as … well, The Flash, for 184 episodes. That is a LOT of episodes! Next, he was also featured in Supergirl but only in 5 episodes. In Legends of Tomorrow, he played in 4 episodes, and 2 of them are only voice, not live appearance. Let’s not forget that he also played in one episode each for Batwoman and Titans series. One comment from me: that is a LOT of Flash!

Peeking a little into his personal life, Grant Gustin is already married to Andrea Thoma. He started dating his current wife in January 2016 (along with his birthday?). Their engagement was announced a year later on April 29, 2017, and they got married again a year later (almost two years in fact), on December 15, 2018. Oh, just a month before his birthday! They already have a daughter who is around 3 years old by now (born in 2021). What a cute little family!

2023 is still rather new, but there have been talks about how Gustin’s chance as The Flash “increases”. This raised questions, for sure: but he’s already The Flash? Well, first of all, The Flash series has already ended. We still see The Flash in multiple movies, but instead of Grant Gustin, we see Ezra Miller. While this is also a fine choice, people do wonder why Grant Gustin was not chosen as The Flash in these movies. Hence the word “increases” from earlier.

Going Back to The First Flash
The fans think that there is a better way for Gustin to stay in the DCEU without having to “steal” the spotlight from Miller: by being Jay Garrick. For sure, Grant Gustin doesn’t have to stay as Barry Allen, if that’s not a possible case. He can still be The Flash, but a different one. There’s an age issue, however, because Garrick is depicted to be an old man. But well, it’s DC after all: multiverse is our thing. Gustin can still play a younger version of Garrick, or he can play as Garrick in a universe where he is still young. Possible, no?

Apparently, James Gunn, CEO of DC Studios, wants to work with Grant Gustin. Even though there isn’t any certain project on what Gustin may work on, the CEO himself wants to see him back in the DCEU! Gustin is also excited to be back as The Flash, should there be any offer from Gunn. So, we just need to sit back and wait for this amazing actor to be back on stage as The Flash!
