The Justice Society – And All About It

Most of us know about the Justice Society, but do we know more than just their name? This article will get you up to date with anything to do with the Justice Society within the DC Universe.

The Justice Society, also known as being a part of the Justice Society of America, is a superhero team that started with being active during the Golden Age. They fought during World War II, where they were part of the All-Star Squadron, a team which protected America during WWII. The Justice Society have plenty of well-known founding members, such as Green Lantern, Hawkman, and the Flash, among many others. Even though some of the founders might not be a part of the team any longer, the team is carried on through their legacies and traditions that they might have created.

The Justice League and Their Place Among DC's Superhero Teams

There are tons of DC superhero teams that are famous, such as the Justice League and Teen Titans, among many others. Therefore, it could be questioned what exactly the Justice Society was created for. It was created during the war, to protect America from dangers, and, therefore, many were curious to see what the team was going to do once the war was over. Despite many ideas, few were right – The Justice Society decided to take a backseat, and instead focus on nurturing and maintaining the superhero legacy.

Even though they decided to take a backseat, the team has more than once found together to fight side by side with teams such as the Justice League, in order to protect America and the world against dangers.

The Modern Team of the Justice Society

Everyone knows what a superhero team does, but few might actually pay attention to the specific members of the groups. Through the years, the members of the Justice Society have changed, just like many other superhero teams have experienced, but in our modern day, DC's Justice Society still has some unique and interesting members. These include heroes such as the Flash, Wildcat and Green Lantern. As for the Justice Society of America, this group was also reformed after a bit of pressure from heroes such as Wonder Woman and Batman, who believed that the Justice Society of America was important in training new heroes.

The Justice Society of America has, in modern times, expanded to have up to 15 different known members, all considered to be a new generation of superheroes. Of course, these are just the known and named - if you were to count active, reserves, and even potential members, the numbers would become extreme, but it is a great showcase of the talented superheroes in the DC Universe of the new generation.

The Recreation of the Justice Society

As the Justice Society and Justice Society of America (JSA) once again were reformed, so were their enemies. Upon the recreation of the JSA, we saw the forming of the Fourth Reich, who were created to destroy the descendants of the Golden Age heroes and the JSA. Sadly, some heroes and their descendants had to see themselves beaten by this new group, but as soon as the JSA knew about their plans, they managed to get together to stop the Fourth Reich.

Despite the recreation of the Justice Society, they at one point reached a place where there was discussion on whether they should split. Some of the team members believed that their methods were outdated. Those who believed that left the team and created their own team called ‘All-Stars’, but this team eventually experienced problems with the inside management, meaning that they once again merged with the Justice League and became known under that name, once again.
