Batman Caped Crusader: The New Animated Series
What is Batman: Caped Crusader?
Have you heard of Batman: Caped Crusader? Released earlier this August, this animated series is bringing back our favorite Gotham superhero, Batman, to his early “career” as a crime fighter. This show also focuses more on the detective side of Batman, using it as the main charm of the story. We will see our favorite villains such as Clayface, Two-Face, and even Harley Quinn. Let us not forget, Catwoman will also show up. And always a fan favorite: Alfred Pennyworth will also make an appearance. So far, this show has 10 episodes and can be watched on Amazon Prime Video.
The Story of Batman: Caped Crusader
Curious to know who the characters of the DC show are? Here they are!
Main Characters of Batman: Caped Crusader
The main characters of DC's Batman: Caped Crusader are Batman or Bruce Wayne (voiced by Hamish Linklater), Alfred Pennyworth (Jason Watkins), Commissioner James Gordon (Eric Morgan Stuart), Barbara Gordon (Krystal Joy Brown), Harvey Bullock (John DiMaggio), Arnold Flass (Gary Anthony Williams), and Renee Montoya (Michelle C. Bonilla).
Supporting and Guest Characters
As for the supporting characters, we have some of our favorite villains as mentioned before: Harley Quinn, Two-Face a.k.a. Harvey Dent, Lucius Fox, Lois Lane, Rupert Thorne, and so many more. As for the guest characters, we have Catwoman, Clayface a.k.a. Basil Karlo, Penguin a.k.a. Oswalda Cobblepot (yep, Oswalda not Oswald), and so many more. There is also a cameo appearance by Joe Chill and Joker! We do wonder why Joker did not have a bigger spotlight, but again, he was probably young when Bruce Wayne was young, yes?
Some Episodes
As mentioned before, there are 10 episodes in Batman: Caped Crusader so far. A second season was confirmed, but there is no release date yet. Perhaps you will know once we write about it again!
Penguin in Batman: Caped Crusader
The first episode is about Oswalda Cobblepot, the owner and singer of Iceberg Lounge. Unlike the other DC universes, here we have the female version of Oswald Cobblepot. She was trying to destroy the warehouse of Rupert Thorne’s organization, which will also destroy him in the process, but that did not work out. The leak was apparently Oswalda’s eldest son, Ronald, who later on sought protection from Jim Gordon in the Gotham City Police Department. The fun twist? Oswalda sent a missile to the police station. A MISSILE! This woman does not come to play around.
Catwoman’s Appearance
Catwoman can never be separated from fancy jewels. In the third episode, Bruce met Selina Kyle, Catwoman’s real identity, at a museum of jewels. His mother’s elite pearls were displayed here, and Selina was interested in them. Later on, using her Catwoman persona, she stole some jewels. Unfortunately, Batman managed to capture her, but she did not stop there. Like Batman, Catwoman upgraded her gadgets and everything, and she attempted to steal more jewels one more time–this time also with Bruce’s mother’s pearls. Unfortunately, she fell into Batman’s trick and was once again arrested.
And of course, there are a LOT more fun and interesting stories in this series! So, why don’t you start watching and you let us know how it is? Don’t forget to share your ideas in the comment section to
