This might be one of the omnibuses any DC, Marvel, or just general superhero fan has been waiting for! Last October 29th a rather interesting omnibus released, named DC Versus Marvel, containing several different stories where a lot of DC and Marvel heroes come together. It is like a flash (pun intended) to the past - when DC and Marvel superheroes (and supervillains) regularly appeared in one anothers stories. The main authors, illustrators, and publishers credited on this omnibus are: Dennis O’Neill, Dan Jurgens, Chris Claremont, and George Perez - but various others have been credited as well due to this mostly being a collection of past stories.

DC Versus Marvel Omnibus Part 1

There are actually two omnibuses being released. The first being the one that is already out, the DC Versus Marvel Omnibus that was released on October 29th of this year. It is an omnibus containing classic crossovers everyone is aware off, plus some more obscure ones you might not have heard about yet. In total, it is 960 page (which is absolutely crazy if you ask us), which means you’ll definitely have a few days worth reading if you buy this omnibus. Although, be aware. The DC Versus Marvel Omnibus is currently selling at prices of $150 - thus it is an investment to think rather carefully about.

The Stories of the DC Versus Marvel Omnibus

The 960 page DC Versus Marvel Omnibus will include a total of 16 different stories. While we shall not mention them all to you, we shall already give you a but of an idea on what to find here. First off, Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man probably two of the most beloved characters out of each franchise, but are they on the same side or on opposites? (I genuinely don’t have a clue, but I’m guessing on opposites because it says ‘versus’...) But there is also Batman and Captain America two of the other most beloved characters in one story! Then we’ll also see the X-Men together with the New teen Titans, Darkseid Vs Galactus, the Punisher and Batman, and so on!

DC Versus Marvel: The Amalgam Age Omnibus

Alongside the DC Verus Marvel Omnibus, a second edition was supposed to be released. DC Versus Marvel: The Amalgam Age Omnibus. However, the release of this omnibus has been delayed and it is unknown when it will be released instead. What is known, however, is that this omnibus will have a total of 1.024 pages (even more bonkers than the other one) - and that it can be preorderd already.

The Stories of The Amalgam Age Omnibus

We do also already know what kind of stories this second omnibus will contain. It will be a collection filled with one-shots - being labeled as a companion to the other DC Versus Marvel Omnibus (despite clearly having more pages and thus supposedly more to tell). Basically here a lot of characters from a lot of different writers and illustrators will be blended together; creating new characters. Such as Iron Lantern (Iron Man and green Lantern) and Dark Claw (Batman and Wolverine). It will also include all four issues of the original Marvel Versus DC mini-series - having 11 battles with an outcome decided by fans back when they came out! The only question regarding this is… when will the release date be?
