    Synopsis of Detective Comics #33

Before we get to the main story, let us remind you about little Bruce Wayne’s vow to fight all the crimes in this world. When he was a kid, his father got shot by a mugger who wanted to steal his mother’s necklace. The mother couldn’t stop screaming, so the mugger also shot her. Bruce Wayne was left all alone, but he promised to not let this happen to other people. And now, fast forward to the current time after Bruce Wayne did all of his training and had Batman as his alias, he was walking down Manhattan when a giant dirigible passed through. Oddly enough, that dirigible started shooting red beams that destroyed the city!

It was one chaotic moment, and he participated in the disaster relief efforts. A lot of people died in the incident, and it was really bad. Bruce wanted to get to the bottom of this, so he went to his laboratory and attempted to get all the information that he needed. The dirigible was operated by a group called Scarlet Horde, and the main culprit was Dr. Carl Kruger. Apparently, Kruger just escaped an insane asylum and was now technically on the run. Bruce got his address and decided to go there while dressing as Batman.

In that address, Batman found the Scarlet Horde, showing that he was on the right track. When he arrived, he saw Kruger was talking to three of his scientists: Bixley, Ryder, and Travis. After they left, Batman was about to attack Kruger. However, he didn’t know that Kruger was protected by a shield of invisible glass. They found out about Batman’s existence there and wanted to tie him up along with setting up a bomb because Kruger wanted to fake his own death. Fortunately, Batman managed to escape before the bomb exploded.

Unfortunately, after that explosion, Batman didn’t know where Kruger went. So, he went to Ryder’s place and threatened him. Due to this threat, Ryder quickly drove to get to Kruger, and Batman followed behind. Apparently, Ryder led him to the secret hangar of the dirigible–and the dirigible was there too. Batman tried to infiltrate the hangar by knocking off the guards and destroying the dirigible, but Kruger managed to catch him again.

He almost used the death ray on Batman, but fortunately, Bruce was quicker. While Kruger was still preparing the ray, Batman already switched costumes with a guard and escaped. Due to this, Kruger thought that he had managed to eliminate Batman. Fortunately, because Batman already went to the hangar and saw what’s the deal with the dirigible, he was able to discover a chemical that he could use to protect his vehicle. The next day, on the next dirigible attack in the city, Batman managed to “fight it off”. Some crazy shootings of death ray happened during this incident, but eventually, Batman decided to fly towards the dirigible and destroyed both the dirigible and his vehicle. He managed to get out safely using his parachute, meanwhile Kruger died and the dirigible fell to the sea. Justice won again!

    Detective Comics #33 Characters

For the main story, the main characters are of course our very own Bruce Wayne alias Batman and Dr Carl Kruger. The side characters are Bruce’s parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne, Joe Chill the mugger, and the three scientists Bixley, Ryder, and Travis which are also called the Scarlet Horde.

    Detective Comics #33 Locations

We said Manhattan at first, but Gotham City actually is located in Manhattan. The main locations of the story are only Crime Alley, where most things happened, and Wayne Manor where Batman did most of his super stuff preparations before going to fight the bad guys.

Other Stories in Detective Comics #33

We have a lot of other stories in this issue too. Bart Regan was supposed to safeguard the president of Luxen from assassination. Luxen was about to be annexed by their neighboring nation, Thoria. It was tense! We also have Buck Marshall with his mine mystery, followed by Larry Steele the private detective, Speed Saunders with the woods mystery, Cosmo and the sewer robberies, Bruce Nelson and the start of the White Goddess, and Slam Bradley with a diamond problem.
