Through this blog, I will take you on a journey to explore songs from every genre of music and see how they relate to the DC Universe. Let's get into it for today! This week's song is...

Tale of The Shadow Song

Sail North

I set upon the sea
To search for phantom sails from tales my mum told me
A ghostly galleon filled with gold, she sails alone
No crew, nor captain's guiding hand
Can tame the one the sailors call The Shadow
Sun and horizon met

I weighed the anchor, hoisted sails, my course was set
My cutthroat crew conspiring with the stars our guide
They point the way through perils fraught
And lead us to the one they call The Shadow

What is Sea Shanty music?

The genre of sea shanty (also referred to as shanty, chantey or chanty) is a genre of music within the genre of traditional folk music. This kind of musics are not necessarily song which were released years ago, but ones that feel as if they were. They usually have a bit of a fairy tale vibe to it, as if they were sung as a work song aboard a large merchant sailing vessel. The songs are accompanied by a rythm to help oen coordinate tasks.

Related to the Leagues

This song is very similar in its relation to the leagues as the song we discussed last time! It probably fits best with the Hybrid league, specifically the Human/Atlantean Hybrids - who might have heard songs similar to this as being sung across the oceans as they were enjoying their own life within the ocean.
