Song of the Week
Edition 13

Hey Metahumans! My name is Amethyst Jackson and in this bi-weekly blog, called Song of the Week, we will talk about music. Through this blog, I will take you on a journey to explore songs from every genre of music and see how they relate to the DC Universe. Let's get into it for today! This week's song is...

One More Light

Linkin Park

Should've stayed, were there signs, I ignored?
Can I help you, not to hurt, anymore?
We saw brilliance, when the world, was asleep
There are things that we can have, but can't keep

If they say
Who cares if one more light goes out?
In the sky of a million stars
It flickers, flickers
Who cares when someone's time runs out?
If a moment is all we are
We're quicker, quicker
Who cares if one more light goes out?
Well I do

....

Trivia

This song was released in 2017.
This song was the last one Chester Bennington sung with Linkin Park.
The song is from the album with the sam title, One More Light.
This song would be described as a ballad.

What is ballad music?

With this song, we are sticking to the same genre as last time - ballad music. Let's quickly recap last time's words: ballad songs can simply be described as a song 'which tells a story through its music and lyrics'. Like they do in musicals. Not a story in a way that it is a love song (obviously, it can be) - but that it also follows the structure of actual story writing. This song, One More Light, is specifically a tender pop ballad, setting it apart from other songs that were popular during this time - which is probably the reason why this song became popular, too.

Related to the Leagues

One More Light. What else can I do but say that this, obviously, belongs to the power of Photokinesis, an elemental power. However, the race of Genesian from the Cosmic league, might also fit this song, as they have the ability of Photokinesis, too. Which is the ability to control light, by the way, hence why it feels so fitting!
