DC Dark Legion: The New DC Game
DC Dark Legion: THE Game To Play
If you are looking for a new action-packed strategy game, and specifically one that takes place in the DC Universe? Then, DC Dark Legion might be the one for you!
In this new game, playable on most mobile devices, you recruit (and lead) a team of heroes and villains. You’ll have them battle in many different fights, against all kinds of threats from the DC Universe. It has RPG elements, as well as a multiplayer aspect. Before being released/launched on
March 14th of this year (yes, this game is very new indeed), it run many beta tests - which have eventually led to the best version of it. Or so is expected from the game.
Developers of DC Dark Legion
DC Dark Legion was developed by KingsGroup Game Studios, a group part of FunPlus founded in 2016. This large independent game company worked together with DC Comics and Warner Bros to bring us (the DC fans) this game.
DC Dark Legion: The Basics
In the DC Dark Legion game, you are transported to mission locations. Here, you have to fulfil tasks and take part in activities to protect a lot of non-MetaHumans. With each mission comes another puzzle mechanic, ending in actual battles with turn-based orders, including both defence and offence mechanics. In total, the player of the game (you!) can send out five DC heroes (or villains) per battle, but you can collect way more than these (more on that later). Each hero then has a health and energy bar, which you’ll want to keep up as high as possible. With that, it is quite similar to most RPG-battle-style games. Which gives a kind of sense of familiarity, as previous reviewers of the game stated. And if you’re more in it for the storyline or the RPG - then there are 2X battle speed and auto-battling mechanics in place (after a midway point in the story, of course).
DC Dark Legion: Characters
As previously mentioned, there are
a lot of characters from the DC Universe included within this game. The official websites states that there are
over 60 champions for you to collect.

Which is quite a lot, so I shall not mention them all - but these include the famous heroes such as Superman, Batman, and Nightwing. Also villains like Harley Quinn and The Joker. But with a total of 60 (probably even more) champions, it is likely that you’ll learn about some lesser-known characters as well. A great way to get to know the DC Universe! These champions will work with a rarity rate (from Rare to Legendary), and thus some might be harder to collect than others - you’ll definitely have to save up the In-Game currency to get all. To make these champions even better, you’ll be about to level them up, gear them up, and upgrade their star count.
DC Dark Legion: Storyline
If you want to go into the game completely empty-minded, you might want to skip this subchapter and go to the end of the blog instead, as we’ll briefly touch upon the storyline! But without much spoilers, only the main goal.
This story is all about
the Batman Who Laughs, the villain wanting to take over the multiverse. He has destroyed basically everyone who tried to fight against him in other timelines - now ending up at the final one. This is where the main characters come in, having to stop the evil designs of the Batman Who Laughs. Together with all of the DC champions, it’s now time to stop this villain!
Truth be told, I have started playing this game last week as well (but only for a brief period of time) - and while I found it a bit difficult to get into at first, I think the storyline and the gameplay are rather interesting and am looking forward to continuing playing this new DC game!
