Detective Comics #1094: The Dubious Facility

What is Detective Comics #1094?

Another Detective Comics issue to be discussed! Seeing the number you might be surprised because it’s HUGE, but again, this issue is indeed new! It was published on February 26, 2025, around 2-3 months ago. Have you read the issue? If not, then let us continue reading!

List of Stories in Detective Comics #1094

Like all the recent issues of Detective Comics, this comic book also only has one story: Mercy of the Father, Part Five. This story still involves Batman, but what’s he been up to this time?

Synopsis of Detective Comics #1094

The story still focuses on Asema, a recent criminal that had been haunting Gotham City. Apparently, this criminal had been targeting young men with criminal records and eliminating them. While we do not agree to crimes that these young men had committed, what Asema did was not any better, of course. In Part Four, the previous issue, Batman was apparently injected with a sedative. While he was under the effect of it, he saw a young boy in a critical condition. He helped the boy by transfusing blood from the medical unit of Batmobile.

Fortunately, the boy survived. Later on, Batman decided to investigate how this happened by sending Robin (Damian Wayne) undercover as a new prisoner. Bruce Wayne also went to this facility, pretending to be an investor of the place. During this investigation time, Damian found out that the place was really abusive, especially with how the guards treated the youth. As for Bruce, he found out that the warden was corrupt (which he admitted by himself). Bruce incapacitated the warden in order to check the surveillance system with Oracle’s help (Barbara Gordon).

Meanwhile, Damian got into a fight with the other inmates, resulting in him being placed in a room called “punishment chamber”. Apparently, this facility was the one that committed the crime that Asema did to the poor young men. Bruce suspected that the blood from whatever-this-process-is is used in a serum linked to Dr. Scarlett Martha Scott, an acquaintance of Bruce. Of course, Bruce managed to save Damian, but he was still not able to uncover who Asema really is.

Detective Comics #1094 Characters

As usual, we have Bruce Wayne as Batman in this issue. We also have Damian Wayne as Robin and Barbara Gordon as Oracle. As for the antagonists, we have Asema and the corrupt warden. Other characters include the inmates and the young boy that was saved by Batman in the beginning of the story.

Detective Comics #1094 Locations

The story mainly took place in Gotham City, as always. Specifically, it took place in the Faultless Juvenile Center, the facility where Robin went undercover to and where the real crime was committed. There are other locations, but they are mostly just mentioned or show up shortly.
