So today I am going to be talking about hammerhead sharks!This shark's unusual name comes from the unusual shape of its head, an amazing piece of anatomy built to maximize the fish's ability to find its favorite meal: stingrays.

1.) There are nine species of hammerhead shark in the world.
2.) The distinctive ‘hammer-head’ part of the shark is called a cephalofoil.
3.) Hammerheads can use their heads to aid in hunting.
4.) Hammerheads have eyes that allow 360 degrees of vision but cannot see in front of them.
5.) Hammerheads are unaffected by stingray barbs.
6.) Hammerheads are not as old as other shark species.
