Metahuman Classes

Edition #9

Weaponomics

Hello, Metahumans! Welcome to a new edition of 'Metahuman Classes'. In this blog, we talk about the different classes we have on our site. This week we'll talk about... Weaponomics!

Why do we learn it?

What is a superhero without their trustworthy weapon? I will answer that for you: nothing. Of course, most of us have powers, but what if you can't use these to defeat your enemy? Then you will need a weapon. This is what makes Weaponomics such an important subject. Weapons can be helpful in any kind of mission. They can (quite literally) save lives. Who wouldn't want to learn about these weapons?

What do we learn?

In Weaponomics, you will learn all about the different kinds of weapons. (Daggers, guns, bows, everything.) Not only this, but you will also be thought about how to choose a weapon for yourself, and even a little bit of the history of weapons. It's in the name already, Weapononomics.

Interviews

We can't talk about Weaponomics without getting either Hayden Archer or Lance Fox here, am I right? This is why I have an interview with them for you!

Hayden, Master of Weaponomics

It is rare to see a Master who is this chaotic teach Weaponomics without (almost) never hurting themselves. It means that Hayden really knows what she is talking about. Or at least, so it seems.

Interview:

Why did you want to become the Master of Weaponomics and not the Master of another subject?
There are many great subjects on MetU, but Weaponomics has always been one that picked my interest. Especially in a universe like the DC comics. After all, most superheroes and villains have really interesting weapons. Getting to do research about weapons and writing lessons about them, was just something I would love to do. So, I just knew I had to go for this subject. Besides that, I also just think it really fits Hayden.

If you would be the Master of another subject, what would it be?
Either Superpower Training or Combat. I think those subjects are the closest to Weaponomics, yet, really different. With Superpower Training, you can teach all about the different powers and races (and there are a lot of those), which just sounds like a lot of fun to me. You will have to think about how to help people with these powers. How can they become better and how can they control their power? It doesn't only involve training, but way more. (Which is different from Weaponomics, as that is training 3/4 of the time.)
Combat sounds really interesting to me, because you can include weapons in this subject, but also because it would be really interesting to search about the different fighting styles. There are so many of them! How do you pick which one to use in what situation? Learning that sounds like a lot of fun to me.

What is your favorite thing about teaching?
There is a lot I love about being a Master, but my favorite has to be seeing the different opinions about Weapononmics. There are students who love the subject, students who hate the subject, and students who only love it when we're discussing a certain weapon. It is fun to see how these different opinions show in their homework.

Is there something you think students should know before taking Weaponomics?
The first year isn't going to be about specific weapons yet. There is a bit of theory we have to get through, but once you reach the second and third years, there will be a lot of weapons to discuss. You might need some fighting skills, but even if you don't, Hayden will teach you how to exactly hold a certain weapon. She knows all the details. And, definitely don't hesitate to send me a mail if you have any questions about the subject!

Lance, Master's Aide of Weaponomics

If you think about Weaponomics, you think about Lance. He has been the Master's Aide for this subject for as long as any of us can remember, but he is still doing a wonderful job.

Interview:

Why did you choose to become the Master's Aide of Weaponomics instead of another subject?
I thought weapons were really cool! I also was curious about how other people saw weapons and their opinions on everything. (So far I've seen a lot of interesting view points on them! I don't think I've seen two people with the exact same mindset on weapons yet!)

What is your favorite thing about working with Master Archer?
Master Archer is super kind, she's very easy to talk to!

What is your favorite thing about being a Master's Aide?
Getting to read people's writing. I really enjoy seeing all the differing viewpoints on the same homework.

What is your best tip for students making Weaponomics homework?
Let your character's personality shine through! Go into your own thoughts on weapons, and don't be afraid if you're not sure of a weapon you like or not! you have time to figure that out!

Conclusion

In conclusion, weaponomics is a dangerous, but also interesting subject. Besides, it will never be boring with Master Archer teaching it!

Are you curious about what subject we might discuss next time? Then stay on the lookout for any new blogs that will get published in the future.
