Metahuman Classes

Edition #12

Fine Arts and Humanities

Hello, Metahumans! Welcome to a new edition of 'Metahuman Classes'. In this blog, we talk about the different classes we have on our site. This week we'll talk about... Fine Arts and Humanities!

Why do we learn it?

At first, Fine Arts and Humanities might not sound like a subject you need when becoming a superhero (or villain). Yet, it will most definitely help you. Learning to express yourself and looking at things from a different view, will help you when you need to go on missions and come up with a plan. When a mission doesn't go the way you want it to, you might need to use something you've learned in this subject to bring it to a good final product.

What do we learn?

This subject is, quite literally, all about the fine arts. Any art form you can think about will be discussed in this subject. From painting to theatre to philosophy. In this subject you will learn how to look at things in a different way, seeing that you have to see everything from a creative point of view. Not only that, but you will also learn how to express yourself - whether it's with words or another form of art.

Interviews

We can't talk about Fine Arts and Humanities without getting Rosalin Kim here, am I right? This is why I have an interview with them for you!

Rosalin, Master of Fine Arts and Humanities

This Master is very passionate about her subject. Which is great when you're getting taught about the Arts. Rosalin has been here for some time now, but she is still teaching us a lot about this beautiful subject.

Interview:

Why did you want to become the Master of Fine Arts and Humanities and not the Master of another subject?
Arts, humanities and the like have always been something I'm passionate and know a lot about. I'm actually focusing my studies on Art and English IRL! I love how vast the subjects can be and how they enable creative thought. You get different interpretations from everyone and it's so amazing to see where people's imaginations lead them. It was the subject that first caught my eye when I joined the site way back, then coincidentally and luckily, the position opened up and it ended up being my first job here that I've held ever since 2020! (wow, I'm old)

If you would be the Master of another subject, what would it be?
Hmmm, probably Astronomy! I've always loved learning about space, so I think it'd be fun to research for and create lessons about. There's just so much to explore from stars to planets to galaxies, as well as other cool phenomena like black holes, y'know?

What is your favorite thing about teaching?
Probably getting to see how creative people get with answering the prompts for assignments! With the nature of the subject, every homework is going to differ from the other and getting to see people's takes on the lesson is super entertaining. They can range from deeply detailed and researched answers about philosophy to silly paintings and I love seeing them all!

Is there something you think students should know before taking Fine Arts and Humanities?
Oooooh...well, the most important thing to know is that the subject can take quite a bit of patience (IG)! Fine Arts and Humanities encapsulates a lot of various things what with it being a rather broad subject and one isn't going to amazing at everything covered immediately, but that's what makes it fun. Art especially takes a lot of practice to master whether it's painting or playing an instrument. Getting to learn how to express yourself in a new way you weren't capable of before could lead to a fun new hobby or even a potential career, so it's good to go in with an open mind that it'll take a bit of adjustment if it's something you've never tried before! (and remember, nobody starts off perfect)

Conclusion

In conclusion, during Fine Arts and Humanities, you surely need to get creative. You will learn a lot about the different arts and how to express yourself.

Are you curious about what subject we might discuss next time? Then stay on the lookout for any new blogs that will get published in the future.
