Issue #003
Good morning/day/evening everyone! I have chosen someone interesting for this week's blog post. You may know him as the sidekick to Batman, or the Hero who's name has been used by 4 different people. I'm talking about Robin, but more specificall the Richard "Dick" Grayson Robin. Grayson is a former acrobat, the youngest of his family's death-defying circus act. His parent's were murdered in cold blood, and Richard vowed revenge, much like Batman. Batman actually saw the resemblence in attitude and personality between him and Dick, which is what compelled him to take the Boy Wonder in and give him a better outlet for his anger.
Grayson soon became Batman's protege, and became an expert fighter and astounding acrobat. Not only that, but Grayson has the toughest example in the world to live up to. However, Robin's true strength doesn't lie in being Batman, but instead provides a beacon of hope throughout the Caped Crusader's grim crusade. As Dick matures into his own superhero alias and eventually becomes the masked crime fighter Nightwing, his old alias Robin proves more than just an identity, but a mantle passed to the most worthy. From Jason Todd to Tim Drake, the mask is now worn by Batman's own son Damian. With a lethal skill set and a marginal sense of mercy, Robin no longer needs Batman to protect him from criminals.
