Metahuman Classes

Edition #14

Forensics

Hello, Metahumans! Welcome to a new edition of 'Metahuman Classes'. In this blog, we talk about the different classes we have on our site. This week we'll talk about... Forensics!

Why do we learn it?

Forensics might not be a subject everyone will use on a daily basis. Heroes and villains are not always aware of how important forensics can be. Yet, as a hero you might want to investigate crime scenes too, to go after your enemy. Villains, on the other side, might want to see how they can leave the least DNA possible. With both these things, forensics will help you.

What do we learn?

In the forensics class, you will discuss many different things. Things from what exactly the science behind forensics is, to looking at crime scenes and figuring out what the best way to deal with these is. You will even look at things like DNA and how these can be found on crime scenes.

Interviews

We can't talk about Forenscs without getting Cassian Wells here, am I right? This is why I have an interview with them for you!

Cassian, Master of Forensics

There are few people who are as passionate about their subject as Cassian is. If you need any help regarding it, he is most definitely the guy to go to.

Interview:

Why did you want to become the Master of Forensics and not the Master of another subject?
I have always had an interest in chemistry and biology and I pursued both of them with my profession in real life. Forensic sciences have a special place in my heart because it heavily depends on both of these scientific areas and utilizes them to solve crimes and allow justice to prevail. On a site focusing mainly on superpowered beings, heroism and villainry and similar topics that revolve around being in the center of action, it was definitely a fresh experience to take a different approach.

If you would be the Master of another subject, what would it be?
I would be interested in teaching the Combat course, or maybe the Heroes and Heroism course for the graduate characters. I have done all of the homework for the latter and had a pretty fun time writing them, so I'm guessing teaching something like that and writing lessons for it would only be equally entertaining.

What is your favorite thing about teaching?
Forensics is a completed course so I no longer have to write lessons for it but back when I first got the job writing lessons was my favorite pastime. The creation of the syllabus and the course itself took a lot of time, surely, but it was all worth it. Ever since then my favorite thing about teaching has been reading homework. I appreciate every single piece that is sent and have a good time reading what the community can come up with.

Is there something you think students should know before taking Forensics?
Forensics is a short course, however, it has a heavy focus on science and reality. It is the cumulation of all science that is used for the detection of crime. In that regard, the content of my classes can be heavier than most other classes and the people taking it should keep that in mind for sure.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Forensics is a short, but intense course. It has a lot of interesting information and will most definitely help you in the future.

Are you curious about what subject we might discuss next time? Then stay on the lookout for any new blogs that will get published in the future.
