Often abbreviated as S.T.A.R. Labs, the Science and Technology Advanced Research Laboratories is a research organization with labs across the United States.

‣ S.T.A.R. LABS' HISTORY

Garrison Slate, a scientist, formed S.T.A.R. Labs with the goal of creating a countrywide network of research labs independent of the government and commercial interests. He was successful not only domestically, but also internationally. According to the most recent count, S.T.A.R. Labs has facilities in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, and Japan, with a total of between twenty and thirty facilities.

At least one time, Lex Luthor has tried to acquire S.T.A.R. Labs. S.T.A.R. Labs provides the technology that keeps Cyborg's cybernetic components in good condition. Ron Evers' cybernetic upgrades were likewise made with these parts. Therefore, some people often tried to get in to the laboratory and steal anything they want, even though they were never succeed.

Because of its ties to Superman and the different supervillains they harbor, the core branch of Metropolis is probably one of the more well-known branches. The Metropolis branch was destroyed in the battle between Captain Atom and Monarch during Armageddon 2001, although it has since been restored. Additionally, S.T.A.R. Labs provided assistance when the Sun-Eater put out the sun.
